The annual display of painted fibreglass animals in city centres provided the backdrop for a fun explorative guided walk of Birmingham’s public art and not-quite-art entities.
Participants were able to spin the Floozy’s balls, find Nelson’s missing arm and shake hands with a Happy Lemon all whilst learning about the histories of lost public artworks and overlooked street furniture. Was Brian Conley ever really here, on this spot? Answers were found and a new city-defining photographic meme was created.
